The Bourne Identity Crisis

This is what you get when Hollywood liberals become disenchanted. Oscar winning film writer Matt Damon (who is also famous for his non-Oscar winning acting roles in such films as the Bourne Identity) recently went on record to criticize his former political hero, Barack Obama by stating that, " a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."

This is the Liberal Bourne Identity Crisis. Do they cast their 2012 presidential ballot in favor of a man that many liberals have identified as a do-nothing sell out to their cause, or do they vote for Ralph Nader? Or *GASP* do they vote for one of the many Republican candidates?

I'm casting my box-office vote with the non-Jason Bourne secret agent whom Mr. Damon, in a 2009, called "an imperialist, misogynist sociopath who goes around bedding women and swilling martinis and killing people. He's repulsive." That's right: James Bond, 007, will be returning to theaters in "Skyfall" slated for release in 2012. As president Obama stated in response to Matt's criticism, "Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw "The Adjustment Bureau," so right back atcha, buddy." Amen to that Mr. President. Amen to that.

Cryogenics and Politics

I'll be honest. I've had a real hard time getting involved in the debates and campaigning by the Republican candidates for the next presidential election. It's like I've become overcome by a malaise. My interest in politics has atrophied.

The previous election cycle, the one from which we inherited President Obama, was a long and drawn-out affair. This current election cycle has repeated that nauseating theater with candidates jockeying for position almost before Obama took his oath of office.

It's the media's fault. I know it is. They filled every slow-news-day over the last four years with conjecture over just who might throw their hat into the political ring to lead the Republicans to defeat Obama - who has been unfairly vilified by many ultra-right-wingers. Seriously... I have to ask how someone could throw unswerving support for former President George W. Bush and have nothing but absolute hatred for someone who has largely done little but continue to follow and enforce the very same politics as his predecessor. The rhetoric may have changed, but it's hard to imagine George W. Bush and his neo-conservative philosophy reacting any differently to domestic and foreign affairs than Barack H. Obama has. The one exception being healthcare, in which G.W.B. would have likely sneaked reform in slowly through measures like his landmark 2003 Medicare Modernization Act rather then the rapid fire action of Obamacare.

None of the Republican Party candidates have really given me a reason to hope things could be different. Except for Dr. Ron Paul, the Congressman from Texas, they all offer the same thing: Neo-Conservatism which is nothing greatly different from Bill Clinton style democracy. And while I would welcome Dr. Paul's ideas for domestic policy, it's his foreign policy - one that is based on a philosophy which discounts pragmatic realities - that worries me. I'm not convinced that a President Ron Paul would adequately preserve our the U.S.A.'s status as a world power.

So. Here we are. Stuck watching the political game for another year. Personally, I'd like to be placed in suspended animation. Wake me when it's over.

Doom

It is in the hearts of men to use power as a means to gain more power. It will always be so. The heart of mankind is corrupt in every way, and this truth can be seen in the smallest of towns where the "right side" and "wrong side" of the tracks are clearly defined. It can be seen in the cities where old and new money is used to manipulate local markets in order to ensure the status quo. The same disgusting grasp for power and influence is magnified in the State and Federal governments and the expression of that desperate search for power is evident in all of our activities as a nation.

It is no surprise that our natural inclination as a nation is to seek hegemony over the world given our propensity to seek it everywhere. We are not the first nation, neither will we be the last to use our power to manipulate the weak or the corrupt in our own favor. When we fall, there will be another who will ascend to the place of power and use that power to dominate our children and grandchildren. I do not even have to lay claim to the title of Prophet in order to predict our demise. I only have to recognize the patterns of history and understand that we are not immune from the inexorable march of destiny.

When the Just Man points at our evils and demands that we face them, that man will never enjoy the applause of the powerful. He will never attain the office of worth, because his very presence reminds the powerful of their greed and avarice. They will seek to destroy the man and his message. They will use all of the weapons of might and fright to maintain their position and power. They will destroy the Just Man because their power is worth more to them than their virtue.

Alas, that I have come to be born in this time. Alas, that I have lived to see this day dawn upon this nation. Whoa upon me that I am alive to see the destruction of the might and majesty of a nation who once believed in the inviolate right of the individual over the state. We are doomed.

Never let it be said that running for office must be a humdrum existence. This article certainly sheds light on the recent goings-on in the doomed Herman Cain candidacy. It looks to me that the "everyman" likes his private jet and fancy meals more than his assumed goal to become the next President. One of the telling quotes from the story:

"In many respects, meanwhile, Mr. Cain’s expenditures on actual campaigning for the presidency appeared anemic. Well after the initial and unexpected spike in attention to Mr. Cain in late September, a reluctance to ramp up resources meant his staff was unable to receive emails for days at a time because the organization’s meager computer servers were overwhelmed with traffic. There was little evidence of major ad buys."

If I had to guess Mr. Cain was never actually interested in gaining the Presidency. In all actuality, he may have been in the race simply for the perks...

Now, before you go assuming that I'm advocating for an austere campaign, I completely get the need for chartered jet travel. Without that convenience, modern-day campaigning would be nearly impossible. But to spend your money on a plane but not on advertising? There was something wrong with the man's priorities.

For those of you who don't believe in the concept of "blowback" in the area of foreign affairs, consider the untold history of the United States' involvement in World War II. As this article describes in the highest level, the US President and his advisors saw little need to accept Japanese overtures for peace prior to the start of hostilities. According to Herber Hoover, the possibility of war was not a certainty, and the greedy pig-headed politicians of the day did little to prevent war.

In fact, they seem to have wanted war. And war is what they got.

It is amazing to see pundits of all stripes dismiss the idea of blowback based on our actions in foreign affairs. These pundits are naive at the best, intellectually dishonest at the worst.

Chinese Pork Products <-The Link

In the USA we have an unfortunate dichotomy whereby the "normal" people are subject to the laws and punishments of the criminal code and the "special" people seem to be immune from the law's effect.

How many of you think that stealing is wrong? How many believe that those who steal should face punishment and be required to provide restitution for their crime? I think the answer is self-evident.

What if that thief is a dude behind a desk? What if his theft is hard to detect? What if after his theft he can go get the government to cover the loss created by placing a levy on you and me? How much does he have to steal from us before we think he deserves jail? How much jail would he deserve?

In China, they seem to have taken a different tact. (See link).

Perhaps they are right. Perhaps not. My thought here is that the banksters who glibly "invested" in crappy products and sold fake securities to investment funds that many Americans were counting on for retirement deserve fates no less permanent than this Chinese family. Perhaps not death, but certainly hard time followed by years of restitution making and final a complete loss of access to the "political process".

In the grand world that we live in today, it has always been possible to steal from the common man without fear of retribution. This was usually reserved as a right of Kings and Dictators. Generally, the population under the thumb of the king or dictators had no recourse when their property was stolen.

In our world, kings have been replaced with politicians, bureaucrats and crony capitalists. In our world these protected classes of people are allowed to decide how much of your money they get to take from you and how much of your money their friends (the crony capitalists and bureaucrats) can have. In our world, these people pretend to care about the poor and downtrodden and tell you and I that they money they are taking from you is to help these deserving folks.

Compare this court decision to the fraud settlements on Wall Street. Like McLemore, fraud defendants like Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Deutsche Bank have "been the beneficiary of government generosity." Goldman got $12.9 billion just through the AIG bailout. Citigroup got $45 billion, plus hundreds of billions in government guarantees.
All of these companies have been repeatedly dragged into court for fraud, and not one individual defendant has ever been forced to give back anything like a significant portion of his ill-gotten gains. The closest we've come is in a fraud case involving Citi, in which a pair of executives, Gary Crittenden and Arthur Tildesley, were fined the token amounts of $100,000 and $80,000, respectively, for lying to shareholders about the extent of Citi’s debt.

Maybe the rest of us should occupy Wall Street and protest these banksters and fraudsters. Then let's vote their PORK buddies out of Congress.

Bailing out the Pigs

So when the government comes to you and says that this "program" or "emergency measure" is needed to prevent total destruction of certain sector, and then that same government says, "Don't worry about it, we're going to get all of this back. It's a good investment for the american ~~sheeple~~ people."

Follow the money (and the link). Whenever the government steps beyond the limits of "the box" (a.k.a. The US Constitution), you can bet that whatever they are advocating is going to:

Cost you more than they said
Be managed in the most inefficient manner possible
Produce nothing of value for the price
Enrich people who are only nominally affected
Ensure the continued employment of government bureaucrats
Strip more of your Liberty through extra-constitutional mandates and regulations

And the list goes on.

Any candidate for the Presidency or other public office who EVER supported the bailout should be held personally liable for the short-fall. (Like that will ever happen).

Lessons on the Constitution

US Constitution. Article 1, Section 1
"All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."

Which means that Congress is the sole branch of government responsible for passing laws that govern the behavior of the Federal Government. The authority to create law is limited by Article 1 Section 8.18 which grant Congress the power "To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof."

This is the reason we call it a limited constitution. It places Congress in a box that defines the extent of its authority. As long as it remains in that box, it has free reign to produce all the laws it wants.

So here is the question. Which candidate for congress in 2012 will promise to restrain their activity to Constitutionally defined limits?

Find me that guy/gal and I'll champion the cause.

Why not "Rally for Ron"?

We all stand for liberty, restoration of limited Constitutional government, and the like. The rally is about our support for Ron Paul, the ideal of his message and why we will vote for him in the primary and beyond.

The "Tea Party" had slogans and they were infiltrated by the republicans and neo-conservatives. The Tea Party (not the people, the movement) failed because they chose to avoid leadership. They assumed that the leaderless movement could sustain itself yet we see that the national tea party "leadership" is only too willing to compromise for expediency and votes.

I want to elect Ron Paul as President of the United States. I believe he is singularly responsible for igniting the flame of liberty in the hearts of Americans. I believe that his passion for liberty, small government, sound fiscal policy, gentle foreign policy, and adherence to the Constitutional are the foundation for National Greatness. I believe that his example should be the benchmark by which all other politicians are measured. I believe that in the time of our darkest need, Dr. Paul is the singular beacon of moral leadership that can provide a light to the path towards liberty. I believe that four years (eight by the grace of God) of Ron Paul's leadership will begin to right the ship of state and I believe that if we don't do everything we can to promote this man to the Office of the President this election we will have lost our last, best hope to bring these United States back from the brink.So my vote is to call this rally what it is. A rally to declare our support of this singular man. Our call to other politicians to emulate his example. A reminder to the nation that there are people who believe in the idea and ideals of liberty and freedom.

The main drafter of Arizona's SB 1070 is a seriously bright fellow, Kris Kobach, who holds a PhD in political science from Oxford and a JD from Yale. (He's also funny, and tells jokes like, "What do God and Obama have in common? Neither has a birth certificate.")

He explains: "This law was carefully drafted to avoid any legal challenge on pre-emption in two ways. One, it perfectly mirrors federal law. Courts usually ask whether a state law is in conflict with federal law, and this law is in perfect harmony with federal law.

"Two, the new law requires local law enforcement officers not to make their own judgment about a person's immigration status but to rely on the federal government (via checking with Immigration and Customs Enforcement). As long as the state or city is relying on the federal government to determine immigration status, that will protect against a pre-emption challenge.

"Further, there's a federal statute -- 8 USC 1373, passed during the Clinton years -- requiring the feds to verify a person's immigration status any time a state or local official asks for it. The federal government cannot deny assistance to Arizona without breaking the law itself."

This is why Kobach, and Brewer, are confident SB 1070 can withstand any court challenge. Let's pray they are right and wish them Godspeed. Arizona is Ground Zero in the war Mexico is waging against America. Here is where the war can start to turn in our favor.

“Sec.___ . a) Inasmuch as Sections Five and Seven of Article I of the United States Constitution mandate a certain process for the enactment of a federal law and do not allow a measure to become a law by “deeming” it passed by either House of Congress, it is the Sense of the Senate and its judgment that the House of Representatives is required by the Supreme Law of the United States, to vote directly and up or down on H.R. 3590 in order to send that measure lawfully to the President, if, and only if, it shall have been approved by a majority vote of each such House taken on an identical measure; and, more particularly, it is the Sense of the Senate that, in conformity with Article I of the Constitution, the House of Representatives, unless the measure is returned to the Senate with an Amendment by the House, must vote directly on the language sent to it by the Senate precisely as it was duly enrolled at the direction of the Senate by its Enrolling Clerk, certified as an Act of the Senate by the Secretary of the Senate, and thereupon transmitted by the Senate’s Messenger to the House Chamber while the House of Representatives was in actual Session.

b) It is the further Sense of the Senate that the exact words that the Senate caused to be enrolled on parchment and taken by messenger to the House of Representatives, constitute the sole document and the only document upon which Members of the House can lawfully cast their vote, whether Yea or Nay, under the process expressly mandated by the United States Constitution; and it is also the Sense of the Senate and its judgment that to do otherwise by “deeming” rather than voting would void any purported enactment, deprive it of the force of law, justify disobedience to it, and cause irreparable violence and harm to our system of government and its fundamental law through fraud, deception, abuse of power, and usurpation of the civil rights of the People.

One of my greatest fears when considering the dramatic and rapid growth of the Federal debt was that this corrupt leviathan would find a way to tap into the MASSIVE private wealth that is tied up in savings and investment accounts.

I will come straight out and say that I do not have a single penny in a private savings account or investment vehicle simply because I am convinced that holding on to a ethereal mode of wealth storage is unlikely to guarantee my comfort in the future. (This means that whatever I have is based on REAL things.)

So, these Federal thugs and dictatorial "servants of the people" have thought up a way to steal the "wealth" of those who have worked hard and saved "money" in accounts that they have been told belonged to them and them alone.

Borzi and Deputy Assistant Treasury Mark Iwry are planning to stage a public comment period before implementing regulations that would require private investors to structure IRA and 401(k) accounts into what could amount to a U.S. Treasury debt-backed government annuity.

...In reviewing the conflicts which have taken place between different interests in the United States and the policy pursued since the adoption of our present form of Government, we find nothing that has produced such deep-seated evil as the course of legislation in relation to the currency. The Constitution of the United States unquestionably intended to secure to the people a circulating medium of gold and silver. But the establishment of a national bank by Congress, with the privilege of issuing paper money receivable in the payment of the public dues, and the unfortunate course of legislation in the several States upon the same subject, drove from general circulation the constitutional currency and substituted one of paper in its place.

It was not easy for men engaged in the ordinary pursuits of business, whose attention had not been particularly drawn to the subject, to foresee all the consequences of a currency exclusively of paper, and we ought not on that account to be surprised at the facility with which laws were obtained to carry into effect the paper system. Honest and even enlightened men are sometimes misled by the specious and plausible statements of the designing. But experience has now proved the mischiefs and dangers of a paper currency, and it rests with you to determine whether the proper remedy shall be applied.

The paper system being founded on public confidence and having of itself no intrinsic value, it is liable to great and sudden fluctuations, thereby rendering property insecure and the wages of labor unsteady and uncertain. The corporations which create the paper money can not be relied upon to keep the circulating medium uniform in amount. In times of prosperity, when confidence is high, they are tempted by the prospect of gain or by the influence of those who hope to profit by it to extend their issues of paper beyond the bounds of discretion and the reasonable demands of business; and when these issues have been pushed on from day to day, until public confidence is at length shaken, then a reaction takes place, and they immediately withdraw the credits they have given, suddenly curtail their issues, and produce an unexpected and ruinous contraction of the circulating medium, which is felt by the whole community. The banks by this means save themselves, and the mischievous consequences of their imprudence or cupidity are visited upon the public. Nor does the evil stop here. These ebbs and flows in the currency and these indiscreet extensions of credit naturally engender a spirit of speculation injurious to the habits and character of the people. We have already seen its effects in the wild spirit of speculation in the public lands and various kinds of stock which within the last year or two seized upon such a multitude of our citizens and threatened to pervade all classes of society and to withdraw their attention from the sober pursuits of honest industry. It is not by encouraging this spirit that we shall best preserve public virtue and promote the true interests of our country; but if your currency continues as exclusively paper as it now is, it will foster this eager desire to amass wealth without labor; it will multiply the number of dependents on bank accommodations and bank favors; the temptation to obtain money at any sacrifice will become stronger and stronger, and inevitably lead to corruption, which will find its way into your public councils and destroy at no distant day the purity of your Government. Some of the evils which arise from this system of paper press with peculiar hardship upon the class of society least able to bear it. A portion of this currency frequently becomes depreciated or worthless, and all of it is easily counterfeited in such a manner as to require peculiar skill and much experience to distinguish the counterfeit from the genuine note. These frauds are most generally perpetrated in the smaller notes, which are used in the daily transactions of ordinary business, and the losses occasioned by them are commonly thrown upon the laboring classes of society, whose situation and pursuits put it out of their power to guard themselves from these impositions, and whose daily wages are necessary for their subsistence. It is the duty of every government so to regulate its currency as to protect this numerous class, as far as practicable, from the impositions of avarice and fraud. It is more especially the duty of the United States, where the Government is emphatically the Government of the people, and where this respectable portion of our citizens are so proudly distinguished from the laboring classes of all other nations by their independent spirit, their love of liberty, their intelligence, and their high tone of moral character. Their industry in peace is the source of our wealth and their bravery in war has covered us with glory; and the Government of the United States will but ill discharge its duties if it leaves them a prey to such dishonest impositions. No matter how officials are selected, they are only human beings and they have no rights or claims that are higher than those of any other human beings. Regardless of the imaginative labels for their behaviour or the numbers of people encouraging them, officials have no right to murder, to enslave, or to steal. You cannot give them any rights that you do not have yourself.

Since you own your life, you are responsible for your life. You do not rent your life from others who demand your obedience. Nor are you a slave to others who demand your sacrifice.

You choose your own goals based on your own values. Success and failure are both the necessary incentives to learn and to grow.

This is the basis of a truly free society. It is not only the most practical and humanitarian foundation for human action; it is also the most ethical.

Problems that arise from the initiation of force by government have a solution. The solution is for people of the world to stop asking officials to initiate force on their behalf. Evil does not arise only from evil people, but also from good people who tolerate the initiation of force as a means to their own ends. In this manner, good people have empowered evil throughout history.

Having confidence in a free society is to focus on the process of discovery in the marketplace of values rather than to focus on some imposed vision or goal. Using governmental force to impose a vision on others is intellectual sloth and typically results in unintended, perverse consequences. Achieving a free society requires courage to think, to talk, and to act - especially when it is easier to do nothing.

Here are the main reasons I am not signing the Manhattan Declaration, even though a few men whom I love and respect have already affixed their names to it:

• Although I obviously agree with the document’s opposition to same-sex marriage, abortion, and other key moral problems threatening our culture, the document falls far short of identifying the one true and ultimate remedy for all of humanity’s moral ills: the gospel. The gospel is barely mentioned in the Declaration. At one point the statement rightly acknowledges, “It is our duty to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in its fullness, both in season and out of season”—and then adds an encouraging wish: “May God help us not to fail in that duty.” Yet the gospel itself is nowhere presented (much less explained) in the document or any of the accompanying literature. Indeed, that would be a practical impossibility because of the contradictory views held by the broad range of signatories regarding what the gospel teaches and what it means to be a Christian.

• This is precisely where the document fails most egregiously. It assumes from the start that all signatories are fellow Christians whose only differences have to do with the fact that they represent distinct “communities.” Points of disagreement are tacitly acknowledged but are described as “historic lines of ecclesial differences” rather than fundamental conflicts of doctrine and conviction with regard to the gospel and the question of which teachings are essential to authentic Christianity.

• Instead of acknowledging the true depth of our differences, the implicit assumption (from the start of the document until its final paragraph) is that Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant Evangelicals and others all share a common faith in and a common commitment to the gospel’s essential claims. The document repeatedly employs expressions like “we [and] our fellow believers”; “As Christians, we . . .”; and “we claim the heritage of . . . Christians.” That seriously muddles the lines of demarcation between authentic biblical Christianity and various apostate traditions.

• The Declaration therefore constitutes a formal avowal of brotherhood between Evangelical signatories and purveyors of different gospels. That is the stated intention of some of the key signatories, and it’s hard to see how secular readers could possibly view it in any other light. Thus for the sake of issuing a manifesto decrying certain moral and political issues, the Declaration obscures both the importance of the gospel and the very substance of the gospel message.

• This is neither a novel approach nor a strategic stand for evangelicals to take. It ought to be clear to all that the agenda behind the recent flurry of proclamations and moral pronouncements we’ve seen promoting ecumenical co-belligerence is the viewpoint Charles Colson has been championing for more than two decades. (It is not without significance that his name is nearly always at the head of the list of drafters when these statements are issued.) He explained his agenda in his 1994 book The Body, in which he argued that the only truly essential doctrines of authentic Christian truth are those spelled out in the Apostles’ and Nicene creeds. I responded to that argument at length in Reckless Faith. I stand by what I wrote then.

In short, support for The Manhattan Declaration would not only contradict the stance I have taken since long before the original “Evangelicals and Catholics Together” document was issued; it would also tacitly relegate the very essence of gospel truth to the level of a secondary issue. That is the wrong way—perhaps the very worst way—for evangelicals to address the moral and political crises of our time. Anything that silences, sidelines, or relegates the gospel to secondary status is antithetical to the principles we affirm when we call ourselves evangelicals.

The Root of Liberalism

Let's go back to ancient history and be reminded of something that Christians take for granted. In the aftermath of the fall of mankind God pronounced his judgment against the three players in the story. To the man he said:

By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."
(Genesis 3:19)

Now this set in motion one of the unshakable truths of the human existence. The truth that we have to work hard for the sustaining foods and other comforts in our lives. This is true no matter how rich or poor we are or from which continent or country we originate. This is even true in an age where most of the food and comforts aren’t produced by our own hands.

Yet, throughout time there has been a rebellion of sorts against this fundamental truth. This rebellion is usually manifested in the lives of a small number of men. These are the few that lord over their fellow man and take the fruits of the labors of the "commoner" and claim them to themselves. These rebellious few found out how to create a system whereby they would benefit from the labor of the many, and convinced the many that this was the way things were.

Then something curious happened. It happened in a new land, with odd people.

These people believed in something radical. FREEDOM

That freedom was centered on a very explosive principle. PRIVATE PROPERTY

The result of labor usually returns to the laborer as a tangible product known as money. This money can take on many forms, and indeed, it has taken on numerous forms over the last several centuries from coin, to paper. The one thing that all of these forms have in common is the implicit understanding that these forms all represent the fair trade of someone’s labor for another's money assets. In all cases, this money was always considered the PRIVATE PROPERTY of the recipient laborer.

As laborers earned and amassed this PRIVATE PROPERTY they became believers in the tenants of the free market ideals that what a man/woman earns is rightfully and unequivocally their own. That they—just as the kings and emperors of old—had the exclusive right to determine the ways in which their own PRIVATE PROPERTY was to be used and disseminated.

The natural result of this shift was that the few, who claimed rights to the product of others, became hard pressed to continually convince the masses of these "rights". This would force these few to adapt to the new realities. And adapt they did...

SOCIALISM, FASCISM, COMMUNISM...

What do these have in common?

The answer is simple really. All three of these "isms" have at their roots in the belief that people's property (results of labor) belongs not to the individual who labors, but to “EVERYONE” in a "fair" and "equitable" manner. These "isms" exists in stark contrast to the unshakable truth that humans have lived with since the beginning of civilizations. They stand in rebellion against the dictate of God.

"By the sweat of your brow you shall eat your food..."

The "isms" and their proponents seek to limit the truth of human nature and the human existence. They wish to deny the fact that we MUST work for our livelihood, or we risk losing the essential part of our humanity. In sort, these "ISMites" want to convince you and I to rebel against our God by denying the truth of his Judgments. We are to change the scripture to read:

"By the sweat of someone else's brow will I eat my food..."

So... What is the difference between the leaders of the "ISM" movements and the few leaders of the past who lived off the labor and products of the masses?

The answer is that there is no difference.

However, you must realize that these "ISMites" are smarter than the kings and emperors of old. The kings and emperors could rely on force and "hereditary rights" to convince the masses to fund their lavish and destructive lifestyles. The leaders of today use the concepts of "equality" and "fairness" to convince the masses that they (the masses) deserve to enjoy the rightful fruits of the labor of others.

Wrapped in phrases of equality, fairness, and even misplaced “christian” sentiment, these schemers have learned to use unsuspecting, simpleminded humans to gain what the kings and emperors of the past had before this time. Power.

But even that answer is simplified for if we were to look further into the story we would find that the elites are in open rebellion against the reality of the human experience and the judgments of God; and that the “equality” and “fairness” they seek for the “masses” is only a smokescreen to the true motivation of their soul.

Their true motivation is that they do not want to work for their own food either.

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

“The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu said. “The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.” (In that case, the Energy Department has a few renegade teens of its own.)

The administration aims to teach them—literally. The Environmental Protection Agency is focusing on real children. Sarah Palin was wrong when she said the provision for end of life counseling in the health care reform bills pending in Congress is a first step toward government "death panels" which will decide who gets expensive medical care and who doesn't. The death panels -- there are two of them -- already have been voted into law as part of the stimulus bill Congress passed in February. President Obama has appointed members to them, and they have been funded to the tune of $20.6 billion. The death panels are not, of course, called death panels. They are the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (hereinafter "Federal Council"), which will set policy, and the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (hereinafter "Coordinator"), who will enforce it. The stimulus bill - Obama's "American Recovery & Reinvestment Act" of $787 billion - authorizes $1.1 billion for the Federal Council and $19.5 billion for the Coordinator. The Federal Council will perform essentially the same functions as the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which rations care in Britain's National Health Care system. (Note the grotesque irony of the British Death Panel having "nice" as its acronym.) One member is Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Dr. Emanuel has written that American physicians take the Hippocratic Oath (do no harm) too seriously, and that priority in health care should be given to those most useful to society, which he defined as those between the ages of 15 and 40. "Comparative Effectiveness Research" bases approval or rejection of the treatment of patients on a formula that divides the cost per treatment by the number of years the patient is expected to live after having received the treatment. Language authorizing the Federal Council to set a cost effectiveness standard for treatment can be found on pages 73 and 74 of the final text version of the stimulus bill, which you can read here: http://www.readthestimulus.org. The health care bill pending before the House would create a subordinate Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research whose purpose, according to Dr. David Janda MD, is "to slow the development of new medications and technologies in order to reduce costs." This provision is in Section 1181 on page 502 of the bill, which you can read here:http://edlabor.house.gov./documents/111/pdf/publications/AAHCA-BillText-071409.pdf. Dr. Janda, who alerted me to these provisions, is an orthopedic surgeon in Michigan who is one of the world's leading authorities on injury prevention and health care cost containment. Britain's NICE has a rule of thumb that it is inappropriate to spend more than $22,000 to extend life by six months. Consequently, British cancer patients do not have access to drugs readily available in the United States. Dr. Karol Sikora, formerly head of The World Health Organization's cancer section, has estimated that 25,000 Britons die prematurely each year because of these restrictions. The Coordinator will "guide medical decisions at the time and place of care." Doctors and hospitals that are not "meaningful users" of the new system will face penalties. Dr. Janda says Members of Congress told him this means doctors could be fined or imprisoned if they provide more care than the guidelines call for. The éminence grise behind the death panels seems to be former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), who was slated to be President Obama's Secretary of Health and Human Services until his nomination was derailed by the revelation he'd failed to pay some $100,000 of taxes owed on a car and driver provided him by a private equity firm. Daschle has been a frequent visitor to the White House since Mr. Obama took up residence there. In his 2008 book "Critical: What we can do about the health care crisis," Mr. Daschle proposed a health care equivalent to the Federal Reserve Board, which the Federal Council resembles. And he offered tips on how to get his vision enacted into law. President Clinton made two critical mistakes when he tried to revamp the health care system in 1993, Mr. Daschle wrote. He put too many details about his plan in his bill, and allowed the public too much time to find out what was in it. And he followed regular procedure, which required 60 votes for approval in the Senate. Mr. Daschle recommended President Obama be vague about what he wants to do, to put key provisions in budget bills, and to rush the measure through during his "honeymoon" period. This may be why the president is saying the time for debate on health care reform is over. The debate was over when the death panels were snuck into the stimulus bill and passed into law in the dark of a February night. Yes. I called you FREE PEOPLE, because you are.

Not because some government granted you a semblance of freedom where there are powerful people who "grant" you the ability to live your life in peace. Not because you are born into an aristocracy granting you the ability to lord over others in your world. Not because you have the right skin color or gender.

You are free because you are a HUMAN BEING. Endowed by a wonderful creator with the spark of life that gives us the ability to think, feel, dream, hope, and believe in truths beyond our understanding.

One of these truths is that this Creator gave us an unquenchable and irreplaceable gift. The gift of self-determination or FREE-WILL. Since that time until this we have been surrounded by humans with the same gift of FREEDOM who - for some reason unknown - constantly try to subjugate the free-will of their fellow humans to themselves.

223 Years ago a nation was formed by radicals. These men believed the old stories of a God who granted you and I the RIGHT to live as FREE men and women. Yet you stand here in this place and that government CONTROLS your lives in ways that you cannot feel as well as in the overt ways which drive us all insane. This aught not to be. This is no longer LIBERTY but TYRANNY.

I've finally decided to come clean. For years I've been engaged in the unlicensed sale of controlled narcotics and mood enhancers. This line of work has been very lucrative and I must say that the lifestyle is quite heady.

This is all well and good, but I'm faced with a new problem in my life. The mother of my children (a.k.a. the Baby Momma) wants to get a new house and settle down like all those "rich white folks" do over on the good side of town. Now this is kind of funny to me since she's white, and I'm white, so I don't know why she wants to act like white people all the sudden, but I digress.

I've been struggling with the idea of showing up at a realtor's office and telling them that I want to pay cash for a $500K house in that gated community, so I've been thinking about the problem and believe that the solution is staring me in the face. What I need to do is get a legitimate loan for the house from a bank. This will keep the suspicious eyes of the realtor away from my stash and keep people from asking too many questions.

After all, if someone asked me "who did you get your loan through?" I don't want to say, "Man I paid cash for that hizzle." I'd rather answer a more common... "Oh, I financed with First National" or something like that. (This doesn't mean I'd like to pay on it for 30 years, just keeping up the pretense).

So... What I'm looking for is someone or some group who can help me setup some legitimate looking stuff so I can qualify for a mortgage and all.

John McCain (Ariz.) and other Republicans, said there is an "opportunity for Republicans" to tap into legitimate fears about an overreaching federal government. But he said that "right-wing nutballs are aligning themselves with these movements" and are dominating media coverage.

Uhh. Excuse me for a second. Since when does the republican party get off assuming that they will get any of the benefit of this national protest? Ladies and Gentlemen of the great State of ____________

Yesterday I gave you a speech wherin I reminded you of the founding of this Union. Don't ever forget that you and I are citizens of a state which has voluntarily banded together to ease the burden of defending itself and to ensure that relations with its neighbor states would be open and free.

But now we are faced with a situation where the LIMITED Federal Government has grown to regulate and restrict the ability of the citizens of each state to operate businesses and enjoy the lawful fruits of their labor. These restrictions and rules are intended to "regulate interstate commerce" which is claimed to be a responsibility of the Federal Government under the Constitution. However, let me ask a simple question... If the Federal Government passes laws, regulations, rules, standards, or other "impediments" to the flow of commerce between the states are they not unintentially (or intentionally) squelching the very thing they THINK they are supposed to "regulate"?

I content to you that the Federal Government was granted a limited role in the regulation of "interstate commerce" in order to ensure one thing, and one thing only... Namely to ensure that Georgia could not restrict the flow of commerce to her neighbors. This warrent granted the Federal Government was not intended to allow that same government to decide how much corn you are supposed to grow; or whether your cheese has the right amount of milk fat in it; or even what kind of medical insurance you should be allowed to purchase.

Go read the Constitution for the United States of America. Pay close attention to Section 8 of Article 1. This congress is granted all consuming power over ONE part of this nation. The District of Washington. They are granted supreme decision authority over TEN SQUARE MILES. Seems to me that they've overstepped their bounds a bit.

Help me put this Congress back into it's place. Help me by voting for me and then hold me accountable to act. I cannot promise that we'll change this overnight, but we'll do it come hell or high-water.

Thank You. Remember that this Government exists from the authority granted to it by you the people. God willing we can make it a government of the people and by the people once again.

Many people today were going on and on regarding an outburst during NMP's campaign spee - errr - I mean public relation's... errr - I mean during NMPs address to Congress. Well, I guess I shouldn't say many people, but definitely those folks with TV cameras and broadcast microphones.

You see, during the great one's constant yammering, in attempts to once again bully his administration's socialist agenda onto the American people (in the form of unconstitutional health care reform), a certain US representative by the name of Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) got a little froggy, and jumped...

Now, a lot of "those folks" claim it disrespect, a break in parliamentary procedures, rude and/or wrong for the gentleman from S.C. to have uttered such a thing. Heck, the way it was being reported, one could be led to the conclusion Mr. Wilson commited the worst sin imaginable (yes, blasphemy against the almighty "O")..!

I'm not one to say they're right, or that he was wrong. However as a casual observer, I couldn't help but notice other moments during the great one's drivel of lies where there was much murmuring, muttering or general disdain being expressed from other occupants of that room. I get the feeling that 'ol Joe there let his emotions get the better of him. During one particular part of "the speech" and in a moment miscalculation, Joe let it slip.

I'm betting he did so, because he supposed that others in the room were also going to voice their contempt for the subject being discussed, much as they had in the leading moments. I'm sure Joe felt that twinge of embarrassment, as his lone voice of opposition echoed off those chamber walls. As Joe began to take on visual daggers from the bully pulpit, I'm sure he felt the need to slump down in his seat. I'm willing to bet; that sphincter-puckering type of embarrassment was what drove Joe into sprinting to the nearest microphone and camera and utter an apology, once the meeting was adjourned.

I, for one, am quite happy to see that finally there's a politician in D.C. who has the onions to call this theft of the taxpayers' money like it is; A LIE! And if I could also add to Joe's "LIE!"; show me in the Constitution where this government can legally shove this PIG-S**T down our throats.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Great State of ____________,

In 1791 thirteen independent and autonomous states sent representatives to a congress to iron out some differences that had recently been exposed between themselves. These men were ordinary in that they had hopes and dreams similar to any other man or woman has had since the darkness of the past or will continue to have into the future. They wanted peace, tranquility, stability, and most of all liberty.

These representatives had seen the beginning of a union of States which was only possible because each of those states had send men and material to aid in a war of Independence from a distant and obtuse leader. This leader from afar had the gall to expect these citizens to fund his wars and his empire without allowing them to be represented in the empire's Legislative body.

This union under debate was created between these thirteen states in order to ensure that the mutual benefit of each state would be secured, and each citizen of the separate states could be reasonably assured that their own efforts would be rewarded, their properties protected, and their pursuit of their own choices in life would not be infringed upon by others.

When it was all said and done, these men created a new Union between the same States. A union that they hoped would be a perpetual union. One designed to , establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and their future generations.

The union they established had certain rules. These rules were like fences which were placed around the Federal Government. They were designed to protect the states from the Federal Government. The reason these rules were necessary is because each of these states thought of themselves as individual countries. Each of the several states were willing to join the union so that they could share in the burden of defense and international relations.

They did not give up their sovereign jurisdictions. They did not lay aside their own responsibilities. They did not abdicate any of their own self-determination. They simply invested into a Federal Government the power that each held independently and then wrote a Constitution for the United States of America to ensure that very same Federal Government did not overstep the limited mandate from the states.

Ladies and Gentlemen. This is an important review of the history of the founding of this union. Recall in your recent memories the role that this LIMITED Federal Government has assumed to itself and consider whether or not these powers and roles have ever been granted to that same Federal Government by the now more numerous states of the Union.

Consider the efforts of the Federal Government in the areas of regulations and rules. In policy and in penalty. In war and in waste. In foreign entanglements and in free handouts. In workforce management and welfare mismanagement. In environmental meddling and economic destruction.

When considering the effort and energy expended by the Federal Government to make your life and mine "better" and to ensure the equality of outcome in people existence, ask yourself one thing...

"Where is the authority granted to this LIMITED Federal Government to even be involved in this stuff in the first place?"

I am an advocate for, and hope to be the champion of removing the Federal Government out of the affairs of the state. I am the candidate that will promise to work every day to reduce and eliminate the extra-constitutional activities of the Federal Government. I am the voice saying to the establishment that we've had enough and we can handle it from this point on.

Quick observation on Current Events

I am continually amazed at the reach of the Federal Government. It seems that there is no limit to the desire to control the lives of people, and the current makeup of the Federal Government is such that the control desired is easy to obtain.

The interesting thing to consider is why they want so much control. I don't have and answer to the question, but I believe it must be answered.

Why does 90% of the Congress and 100% of the current Executive Branch desire to control my life and choices? What is in it for them? How does controlling my life make their life better?

And the Republican Party is no better. Different "moral" viewpoints doesn't change the end result...

Government Arrogance at it's best

A DEA officer stops at a ranch in Wyoming, and talks with an old rancher. He tells the rancher, I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.

The old rancher says, "Okay, but do not go in that field over there," as he points out the location.

The DEA officer verbally explodes saying, "Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me." Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his badge and proudly displays it to the farmer. "See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish on any land. No questions asked or answers given. Have I made myself clear?"

"Do you understand?"

The old rancher nods politely, apologizes, and goes about his chores.
A short time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the DEA officer running for his life, chased close behind by the rancher's prize bull.
With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he'll get horned before he reaches safety. The officer is clearly terrified!

The old rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence and yells at the top of his lungs.

"Your badge! Show him your badge!"

A LETTER TO AMERICA FROM A DODGE DEALER

My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business. We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability. I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life. On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory. Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank. HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN? THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY. This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong. This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? So I had this thought tonight as I was staring at my computer monitor.

If the DHS has identified returning war veterans as potential targets of "radical-rightists", does this mean that there is some fear in the current government over the true allegiance of the military which are now serving?

Think about it for a minute... Why write the memo (1 year = 9 pages) and include the warning against the veterans of today? What would make these bureaucrats concerned about the potential of flipping a war hero into potential overthrowers of the government???

"I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Now, what would you fear?

Strong banks will be allowed to repay bail-out funds they received from the US government but only if such a move passes a test to determine whether it is in the national economic interest, a senior administration official has told the Financial Times.....But the judgment would be made in the context of the wider economic interest. He said the government had three basic tests. It needed first to “make sure the system is stable”. Second, to not create “incentives for more deleveraging which would deepen the recession”. Third, to make sure the system had enough capital to “provide credit to support the recovery”.

WHAT!!! The US Treasury has the potential to get back "TAXPAYERS" money quickly, but they want to game the system so as to keep the banks from paying back the "LOANS"???

Say it isn't so. You want me to believe that the Government has the best interest of the people?

No, it's the "SYSTEM" which is the highest concern according to the quote.

All you people out there that naively believes that the government cares about you are fools. The government only cares about the system. Even if the system is what caused the problems in the first place, and even if the system is designed to enrich the few...

We can raise a full glass of your favorite adult beverage to all the Tea Party participants - and to the one group of Americans the Zerocrats despise above all others:  our soldiers in the US military.

All of us want to raise our glass the highest this week to the Navy SEALs who popped those three Somali pirates.  And I'm sure you want to hear the real story of what happened.   Especially because there is a revoltingly opportunistic and cowardly side to it.  Guess which side Zero is on.

Why, for example, did it take SEAL Team Six (aka DEVGRU, Navy Special Warfare Development Group, the Navy's equivalent of Delta Force) over 36 hours to get to the scene?

Because Zero refused to authorize the SEAL deployment for those 36 hours, during which the OSC - the on scene commander, Cmdr. Frank Castellano of the USS Bainbridge - repeatedly requested them.

Once the SEALs arrived - parachuting from a C-17 into the ocean near the ship - Zero then imposed Rules of Engagement (ROE) specifying the SEALs could not do anything unless the life of the hostage, Captain Richard Phillips, was in "imminent" danger.

Thus, when Capt. Phillips attempted to escape by jumping off the lifeboat into the ocean, the SEAL snipers had all four pirates (one later surrendered) sighted in and could have taken them out then and there - but they could not fire due to Zero's ROE restrictions.

When the SEALs approached the lifeboat in a RIB (rigid-hull inflatable boat) carrying supplies for Capt. Phillips and the pirates, the pirates fired upon them.  Not only was no fire returned due to the ROE, but as the pirates were shooting at the RIB, SEAL snipers on the Bainbridge had them all dialed in.  No triggers were pulled due to the ROE.

Two specific rescue plans were developed by Cmdr. Castellano and the SEAL teams.  Zero personally refused to authorize them.

After the second refusal and days of dithering, Cmdr. Castellano decided he had the Operational Area and OSC authority to "solely determine risk to hostage" and did not require any further approval of the president.

Four hours later, the White House is informed that three pirates are dead and Capt. Phillips has been rescued unharmed.  A WH press release is immediately issued, giving credit to the president for his "daring and decisive" behavior that resulted in such success.

Zero has absolutely no military knowledge or experience whatsoever.  He demanded decisional control over the entire hostage drama to the last detail.  All actions required his personal approval.  He dithered like a coward while the world laughed at our warships flummoxed by four illiterate teenagers with AKs in a lifeboat.

Only when the Navy Commander decided to ignore his Pantywaist-in Chief and take action and responsibility himself, were the incredible skills of the SEALs put into play.

That Zero could cynically and opportunistically claim that his "bold" "calm" "tough" leadership was responsible should remind everyone that not a single action, not a single word of this man can be trusted. He is bereft of honesty and moral character.  That's why he's Zero.

The HFR raises a glass full of pride and gratitude to Navy Commander Frank Castellano, the Navy SEALs for their incredible competence, and our military.  Let's hold a Tea Party in their honor.

St. Augustine's "The City Of God" Book IV, chapter 4

I've seen this story told and retold over and over again by the left and the right equally. It's often used in an attempt to paint whoever happens to be sitting in executive power as little more than a thug or a hooligan.

I decided to find the exact quotation, and to post it here. It's a good reminder about what happens when government ceases to act justly. From "City of God," book IV, chapter 4;

"Justice being taken away, then, what are kingdoms but great robberies? For what are robberies themselves, but little kingdoms? The band itself is made up of men; it is ruled by the authority of a prince, it is knit together by the pact of the confederacy; the booty is divided by the law agreed on. If, by admittance of abandoned men, this evil increases to such a degree that it holds places, fixes abodes, takes posession of cities, and subdoes peoples, it assumes the more plainly the name of a kingdom, because the reality is now manifestly conferred on it, not by the removal of covetousness, but by the addition of impunity. Indeed, that was an apt and true reply which was given to Alexander the Great by a pirate who had been seized. For when that king had asked the man what he meant by keeping hostile possession of the sea, he answered with bold pride, "What you mean by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, while you who does it with a great fleet are styled emperor."

To paraphrase, and contextualize it in light of our recent tax protests; whether my earned wages are taken from me at the point of a robber's gun, or the even more terrifying hand of big government, the end result, for me, is the same. The wealth that I earn is "liberated" from me and becomes the property of those who did nothing to earn it.

End the wellfare state.

I've been reading articles related to currency policy lately and have come up with an interesting thought.

The US government currently owes a HUGE amount of money to China and other foreign government who have purchased US Bonds via their "sovereign trading funds" or CENTRAL BANKS.

The total US Debt is 11TRILLION dollars (http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np).

In the past the quickest way to relieve some of the pressure cause by the debt was to "monetize" the debt which effectively means that the FED will print $$$ lots of dollars which will effectively turn some of the debt into dollars. (This is done by printing the $ and buying back the gov bonds from some of the holders which is supposed to be good for the bond-holders ).

Now... Let's say that the US Treasury decides to monetize 10% of the debt. That means that the fed will have to print $1,114,656,683,229. That's a LOT of money you say? Well you might be surprised to find out that there is currently about $800 Billion in circulation.

So what would happen in this scenario? Well, the value of your dollars-in-hand would effectively be cut in half. Meaning that you would need to pay about $3.00 for a 20oz of coke, or $80.00 for a tank of gas.

Pretty serious stuff huh?

Now to my thought...

Let's say that you were earning about $60,000 /year pre-tax prior to this debt-monetization process. Now you might have guessed that your effective salary just got cut in half. So what is your next move? Get a new job? Demand higher wages?

Let's say you get a higher salary from your boss. After all, he's probably earning twice what he was before because he has to charge twice as much for the goods he sells right?

Now your salary is doubled to $120K per year.... You see what just happened????

At $60K/year your salary is taxed at the 25% rate (it could be 15% if your deductions work out right). At $120K/year your tax rate is 33%.

Just like that you got screwed by the government without ever increasing your ability to enjoy the finer things in life.

So the words, "I won't raise taxes on anyone who makes less that $250K/year" really doesn't mean what it sounds like it meant does it?
